Washingtonville, NY — Assemblyman Colin Schmitt (R,C – New Windsor) issued the following statement regarding news the Biden Department of Justice was dropping the investigation into New York COVID-19 nursing home deaths.
Assemblyman Colin Schmitt stated, “Today the Biden Department of Justice dropped its investigation into Governor Cuomo over the deaths of thousands of New York senior citizens at nursing homes during COVID-19 due to his and his administration’s direct orders. This news is disturbing and highly suspect. It raises many red flags of corruption and favoritism and it’s an affront to thousands of New York families. There needs to be congressional oversight and DOJ IG investigations in this decision. These families deserve justice.”
